03/13/09: Anna sent this email to AAKS, from Sabre and Ember's (Anna/Zack 09/07 litter) trainer]:
“I think now that they should rename King Shepherds to "Drama King Shepherds". Yes, Sabre is doing well and making good improvements. I think I get a good feel for why he is here now. He's been a trip! We have had a lot of fun over figuring out who controls the door and who is going to have to go out of it, not bust back in it without permission, and not throw their whole body on it, while squaw ling when it will not be opened back up by the human standing on the other side. Sabre has tried his best to "pack up" with the dogs that are here now that he does not have Ember. Since he's only had "me" as his pack since he got here, he is trying to adjust to the idea that I might be important. He's coming around, but every lesson we have, he's made it very clear that he'd really rather get back in that kennel near his [perceived] buddies. Sabre controls his world thru Drama. He's really quite ingenious. We are good on toys. My guys have shared some of theirs with him so I think we'll be fine . . . ”
03/30/09: Sabre and Ember are still at the trainers . . . Sabre is quite the tough cookie to train! Ember has been very easy (!). I sent her for a short training session just as a refresher. Since Sabre came, she has turned a deaf ear to me. [The trainer] says I need to keep them apart until they figure out that I am back in control! Sabre is still being a drama king (as she calls it) and is quite the control freak. He wants all things his way and vocalizes quite loudly when they don't.

She says that he even goes bonkers when she is petting Ember and he has to "sit/stay" . . Kinda quiet around here with only three dogs...nice change of pace!!!! ~ Anna (Georgia, USA)
11/28/09: Quick pix of Little Sabe-Sabe tonight... I don't think of him as big, until I see a pix like this. Guessing he about 110 at one year now. What a lap warmer. ~ Doug
