Cali

cali06/01/09: We have started count down for our trip up north [to the United States]. We really need a break from this little rock as much as we love it. We would like to come and visit with you and Cali for a few hours if possible during our trip . . . Once again we cannot thank you enough for all you have done for us, we can only assure you that she already is a treasured part of our family. Talk to you soon. ~ Bridget. (AAKS Note: We are posting this puppy picture of Cali now, since she cannot be shipped to her new family in the Cayman Islands until she is at least six months old due to CI quarantine law. She is four weeks old in this photo. )

AAKS Note 07/13/09: Cali's Mom and Dad will be at AAKS tomorrow morning (in from the Cayman Islands) to meet Cali in person for the first time. She is now just 8 months old but still will not be able to go to her new home until after the 1st of August, when she will have received her second rabies shot. The light colored King Shepherd with Cali in the photos below is her brother Beau, who stayed with us while his family relocated from New Hampshire to Canada. (He looks just like Uncle Berrin!)

We couldn't be happier with her family that we have grown to know very well over the last couple years. They made great efforts to bring Cali into their lives and we will be forever grateful to them for this. Although we miss Cali very much, and I shed so many tears the day she left, I know what a great future she will have with her new family. We are always up for raising one of our pups for families whom live out of the US, as this is what we do, and want to be able to ensure that no one, regardless of where they live, would not have the chance to know a King Shepherd, as to know one, is to love, admire, and take great pride in them.

07/23/09: We are home now, all very tired but happy to be back. Matiise and Marley have not left our sides since our return. Thank you so much for the visit, we really enjoyed meeting and being able to spend time with you and your furry friends. After looking at the photos I took, I did not get any of Polar. Silly me!! [Cali] is just as we imagined she would be and we could not be happier. Brutis is spectacular, if you are considering rehoming him outside of a breeding program we would love him. ~ Bridget

08/19/09: . . . Cali is adjusting wonderfully. She was very leery in the beginning of both Matiise and Marley but stood her ground. Marley has decided its best to just stay out of her way. She is constantly at Jessica's side which just thrills Jess beyond all, she is now also very protective of Jess from dogs and persons alike. She is starting to warm up to Jay, he has even gotten a few kisses. The tail is no longer stuck to her chest but wagging constantly. She is still not too sure of the parrot but that too will come in time.

It was absolutely priceless last night when I let them out, they were running around the back yard but neither Matiise nor Marley could catch up with Cali....man is she fast.

She had her first visit to see [the vet] and although she lost 2 lbs he was very happy with her and described her as a very gentle dog. We sign her up in a few weeks for obedience training...we'll have to take both her and Marley as he is only now to the point where we think he won't freak out...he was so badly abused when we got him.....should be fun . . . On Sunday we will take them to the beach, will try and get some photos and send to you. Take care and again I cannot say thank you enough for letting us have Cali, she is wonderful and what an eye catcher. ~ Bridget (Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands)
