- Veterinarians we would like to highlight. We go to these clinics for our animals' general, special and fertility needs. In striving for the best, we work with the best medical and scientific services available to us.
° Our local vet for vaccinations, medicines, routine vet care is Arenac-Bay Veterinary Services .
° We go to Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine for x-rays, applications for etc, for hip, elbow, and eye certifications, and for specialty care that all our animals may require.
° Our fertility specialist is Jocelynn Jacobs (Knoll), DVM at Countryside Animal Health Center . Dr Jacobs is a fertility specialist but has also co-researched Malamute coat funk, published in the AMCA Newsletter on coat funk and canine Cushing's, and written the book Performance Dog Nutrition. She also breeds champion Malamutes (Sno Shire Alaskan Malamutes) and was part of the 2009 North American Veterinary Conference polar bear expedition (NAVC here, Midland Daily News, November 15, 2009 article here . She and her husband also participate in the Michigan Upper Peninsula Jack Pine 30 sled dog race.
